Code Next is an initiative by the City of Austin to rewrite the Land Development Code to increase density. Community Not Commodity is a non-profit organization that advocates neighborhood-based planning and anti-displacement programs.

Because of Austin-resident involvement in the protest process, the courts have stopped Code Next (at least for now.) They City of Austin has appealed the ruling and it will likely be tied up in the courts for another year.
