When you establish your criteria for tenants, it’s sometimes possible to be too stringent. One example is your pet policy.
The percentage of Austin residents who own pets is one of the highest in the country, so if you establish a “no pets” rental policy – you could be ignoring more than half of the available tenant pool.
Your concern is probably damage to the property and ultimately it’s your decision, but there are things you can do to minimize your risks.
